Hilton Colombo Residences has always been about introducing cuisines from around the world at its main restaurant, FLOW. This time around HCR has ventured out in to the South American continent and bring to you Sabores do Brasil – the cuisines of arguably one of the most vibrant nations in the world. On from the 3 until 12 October 2019, this dining promotion will feature three guest chefs from Hilton hotels in Brazil: Barra, Copacabana, and São Paulo; offering buffet dinner, exclusive chef’s table, and fun cooking master classes. The Embassy of Brazil in Colombo partners with HCR to make this event a success. Chefs Moreno Colosimo, Executive Chef of Hilton Barra Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Moreira, Sous Chef – Hilton Rio de Janeiro Copacabana, and Rodrigo Mezadri, Executive Chef of Hilton São Paulo are here to quite literally cook up a storm.

Sabores do Brasil dinner buffet is priced at Rs. 3,900 nett per person and is available from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Some of the dishes that will be featured are Chicken Cuscuz Paulista – Kuz-kuz or alcuzcuz, Mini Pastel de Queijo, Whitefish Moqueca, Galinhada, Escondidinho, and Barreado.

The buffet itself is fairly meat heavy and we aren’t complaining about that. The flamboyance that is Brazil is not only present in the food but is also in the décor including a large replica of the famous World Wonder Statue of Christ the Redeemer. Highlights of Brazilian and South American cuisine like peppers, tomato and leafy vegetables also feature heavily on the menu but one must try the desserts section for a whole new flavour explosion. Brigadeiro was definitely our favourite and we wouldn’t mind trying this buffet again just for those!
