  • A lot of folks claim to be creating “divine” goodies but few deserve the accolade. We were lucky enough to find Mandy’s Divine Treats who dish out arguably some of the most delectable desserts we have ever had the privilege of tasting.

We came across Mandy and her delectable goodies on Facebook and were quite fascinated at how she was doing a range of desserts that no one else out there was attempting. For starters there was Salted Caramel Mini Cheesecakes, Nutella Hazelnut Mousse and lots of sweet sauces. Being Chiristmas time and all we decided to indulge (heavily) and ordered quite a hefty load from her.

Delivery was prompt and everything comes in sustainable, reusable packaging which is brownie points in any review. We also liked how the portions were value for the money you pay.

Let’s start with our absolute favourite, the Salted Caramel Mini Cheesecakes. I mean we love Salted Caramel and Cheesecake on its own. And then when someone goes and puts them together in a marriage of flavours, we are simply hooked. We got a box of 6 which lasted a little more than 6 minutes, and that too only because I personally decided to hide them where no one else could find them! The silky smoothness of the cheesecake was nicely complemented by the rich Salted Caramel flavour.

Speaking of Salted Caramel we also got a jar of Mandy’s Salted Caramel Sauce and used it as a topping for Christmas Pudding and Breudher. With the Christmas Pudding it added a whole new dimension to the traditional Brandy Butter. You can’t obviously set the Salted Caramel Sauce on fire, but it’s a nice variant especially if you want to get the kids to enjoy it too. We also tried Mandy’s Vanilla Cream Sauce with the Breudher and felt the subtle and simple flavours of the Vanilla went well with the usual Butter and Cheese combo.

Mandy’s version of Nutella Hazelnut Mousse was also quite divine. Heavily generous on the Nutella the mousse was thick and one can’t simply take more than a few mouthfuls. Unless of course you are a devout chocoholic like me who can finish it in one sitting! Nutella is a very distinct flavour and when made in to mousse form we loved how it didn’t get lost with the flavours of the other ingredients and was truly a delectable delight in every bite. The nutty hazelnut flavour added a nice aftertaste that lasts long in your mouth helping you savour the moments just a little bit longer.

We also got a box of assorted cookies from Mandy’s repertoire including Chocolate Crinkle Cookies, Nutella Stuffed Cookies and classic Chocolate Chips. Again we loved the distinct flavour and composition of each cookie. The crinkles were the harder variety with a crunch in every bite while the gooeyness you look for in a good cookie was on point in the Nutella stuffed ones.

One of the key things about Mandy’s treats was that she clears put a lot of effort into quality. We could tell from the flavours that genuine, quality ingredients were used and our rating is also based on the fact that vendors do not compromise quality for quantity. This is also a reason why we would pay a little extra and support a home-based operation.
