Hilton Colombo Residences launched its Indonesian Food Promotion, “Indonesia Enak” at its main restaurant, FLOW, from 29 August until 7 September, excluding 1 September 2019. The promotion will feature two guest chefs Edi Yulianto and Asep Ramdani from Hilton Bandung to offer authentic Indonesian cuisine selected from thousands of islands that make up the archipelago.

The Indonesia Enak dinner buffet is priced at Rs. 3,900 nett per person from 29 – 31 August and 2 – 7 September 2019, 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Some of the dishes that will be featured are  appetizers such as Tahu Goreng Medan (Shrimp Fritters), Lumpia Basah (soft Spring Roll stuffed with Sautéed Bean Sprout, Egg and Chives), and Pepes Ayam (Grilled Chicken in Banana Leaves); mains such as Pecak Ayam (Sweet Basil Chicken), Rendang Daging (Sumatra signature Beef Stew) and and Indonesian desserts such as Dadar Gulung (Coconut Pancakes) and Pisang Goreng (Banana Fritters).

Edi Yulianto is a graduate of the Tourism Academy of Sandhy Putra Hotel Management Indonesia. Edi’s international experience spans Dubai, Australasia, and Bermuda. With international exposure to his credit, he returned to Hilton Bandung in 2012 and currently holds the title of sous chef in the hotel’s main kitchen. As a Demi Chef de Party of Hilton Bandung, Asep Ramdani is passionate about delivering new and invigorating cooking methods. His culinary specialization includes western, Asian, Mexican, and Indonesia. Asep has represented his country regionally at Hilton’s F&B Masters in 2015.

 

The dinner buffet is made more colourful with Indonesian artefacts and classic batik motifs that adorn the food stations and walls of FLOW. Special dance performances and staff clad in traditional attire also adds to the allure. But perhaps the authentic presentation and taste of the food is what really appeals to the senses.

 

From the different varieties that we tried out the variants of the Satay (or Sate as it’s known in Indonesia) was perhaps at its best with the Peanut Sauce being deliciously on point. The Nasi Goreng and Beef Rendang was simply melt in your mouth goodness that we just couldn’t get enough of. The dessert station as definitely a highlight as well with the Banana Fritters with Ice Cream and the Pandan Pancakes requiring multiple visits that way.

Overall, it was definitely one of the best food festivals/promotions we have been to this year. Variety, authenticity and execution was all at its best and kudos to HCR for putting on such a good show!
